Are You Kidding Me Bro?

This is "that guy", the living autograph.  He arrives so drunk that he may or may not knock the final pong cup off the table, losing his team the game.  Actually there's no doubt, that is what happens, it did happen.  But you know what, Goldilocks had a solid night, look at that smile next to the sharpie penis on his face, shooting into his mouth.  Classic.

Meanwhile, his hombre was taking 40 drinks to the face.  Truth, 1.5 liters of no-name rum devoured by a one man army.  That's pretty irrelevant but it deserved a mention, especially since frank the tank freaked out exorcist/Blair witch style at 4:30 am.

Anywho, only a Bro would go this hard, and I couldn't help giving him the honor of The BroCave post.  Props to the one they call "Milldew" for letting go, and landing a solid drunk smack to the face on his best friend, that will teach him to... not draw on you?  Give this guy the keys!

Bro of the Week: Jacques Caron

Welcome former professional hockey player, and goaltending coach for the New Jersey Devils, Jacques Caron to The BroCave.  From the moment I met this man bearing the Stanley Cup at a local restaurant, it was clear to me that he is a boss. As goaltending coach for the New Jersey Devils in their prime years, he is often credited with recognizing Martin Brodeur's talent, and turning it into success, acting as a father figure to Brodeur.  During his tenure on the Devils staff, Caron has won 3 Stanley Cups.

Now Jacques still serves as a contributing assistant to the Devils, but at the spritely age of 71, his role is limited.  After 71 years, this legend finally played beer pong for the first time.  On the shores of Cayuga Lake, it was only fitting that Jacques paired up with former Bro of the Week, Bennett Myer.  After "Team Bro's" stunning loss in the intense battle of Caron's first game of BP he claimed, "I'm a defensive player, but I really thought I had a few."  As you can see from the video, Mr. Caron didn't take the loss lightly, leaving after not sinking a single cup.  But with a cougar in one hand, and a full SOLO cup of wine in the other, he taught Bros everywhere a valuable lesson: you're never too old to party.  That makes the 71 year old, 3 time Stanley Cup winner, beer pong playing, cougar killer Jacques Caron the newest Bro of the Week.

CollegeACB, A New Way to Talk Shit

I've been in college almost 2 full years now, and not until a little over a week ago did I find out about CollegeACB.  At a school as small as SUNY Cortland, a lot of people know each other, or at least recognize names.  CollegeACB give you with the ability to talk shit about someone else on campus anonymously.  For someone like me there aren't many things better to distract me from my homework than reading about the "Biggest Whores on Campus."  If you don't go to a community college (there's 3 listed on CollegeACB), then chances are your school is listed.  Check it out Bros.

The Drugs Win Again

We know that feeling, maybe you can't move, maybe you pass out like my roommate did mid-walk, drugs put up a killer fight.  Unfortunately, the sad outweighs the sexy in this situation.  As much of this chick's great ass that we see, it doesn't compensate for her insanity.  Bet she's an animal in the sack though.  Kids with their E these days...

P.S. - I love how casual everyone at the public pool is acting.  No big deal, some bitch flopping like a dying tuna.  Gotta love the Euros.

Bro Tunes: Mike Stud Edition

So I'm crusing the laptop, in a stall, looking for the next edition of Bro Tunes and BOOM, Mike Stud.  This bro is spitting straight fire.  I'm wondering, how haven't I heard him yet?  But the real question is, how haven't you heard him yet?

Thanks to the internet & Mike Stud, I'm sharing a pair of songs with you in this post, only the first two songs of his that I've listened to.  It's just that good.  There are so many things that I like about Stud's tunage; the beats, rhymes, references, you name it.  The best thing is, he isn't your everyday college musician pushing the hell out of his music, the All-American Duke baseball player, and Georgetown grad student lets the music speak for itself.

Check out Mike Stud, "The Smarter Type of Fresh" at his soundcloud page, Youtube, and MikeStudMusic.com

Bro of the Week: A Pong Legend in the Making

It's been about a week since I've posted anything on The BroCave, having more important things to deal with like a much needed vacation.  It has been even longer since anyone has been named Bro of the Week.  I'll keep it short and sweet, this time I'm going to shake things up a bit with the choice being a 12 year old pong Jedi master.

There are so many different videos of pong trick shots over and over again, but you've got to give credit when credit is due. I don't know whats more sad, the fact that this kid would run the table on me, or that he spent so much time assembling obstacle courses and practicing these shots.  If this little bro had no friends before this video, then he sure as shit should now.  This is for middle schoolers everywhere, if you don't know this kid, get to.  You're looking at the beer pong table's best prospect for the next 15 years.  Props to the little sniper Bro, the newest Bro of the Week and eventual BPHOFer (Beer Pong Hall of Famer).

Are You Kidding Me Bro?

So I realize that this video was originally posted on World Star Hip Hop, then Barstool before I got to it, but I don't really care.  If you didn't see it on Stool , now you're going to see it here.  When I read the post I knew it was going to be a crazy video, but nothing like the havoc this driver causes.

I think it's safe to say this is a Bro behind the wheel, most likely pissed off that he has to wait behind a bunch of spandex-bearing bikers.  Women don't necessarily get in these kind of angry driving accidents, they are usually involved in accidents that fault their driving too carefully/lack of common sense.  If not, the only excuse I can think of is that this was your typical Asian driver.  If you've ever driven through Ithaca's collegetown you know exactly what I'm talking about, madness.

In a town laden with foreign cars, and people from the same place as their vehicle, it's no place to bike.  Of course this didn't happen in Ithaca, I'm just warning not to walk/bike near the street in I-town or you may end up like the 30-40 victims in this video.  Prepare to be shocked.

Does Funneling Two Four Lokos in 10 Seconds Get This Bro Laid?

Stupid.  I wouldn't be surprised if he landed in the hospital after this stunt.  On the other hand I know that I've referred to it before, but a friend of mine drank 2 Lokos (1400 calories) in about 30 minutes a few weeks ago.  This resulted in him not making it out to the bars that night of course.

Instead, he passed out laying in his own vomit in the basement of SUNY Cortland's dining hall, Neubig hall.  He was face down in the bathroom of the closed dining hall (that is oddly located in the basement), and woke up to darkness, in a strange place at 1:00 AM.  Pretty Loko shit if I do say so myself.

Basically, whether the Bro in this video was functioning 15 minutes later or not, he deserves to get laid for the story and the live recording of it.  I know people who can't even funnel a beer, which does sound ridiculous especially for college standards, but it's true.  This Bro possesses a one-of-a-kind skill, and he deserves some kind of an award.  Props Bro.

Thanks to Ben for the Tip.

This Week in BroLinks - 2/18/2011

FilmDrunk - A bunch of weird/cool movie posters that Poland apparently uses.

ScreenJunkies - Justin Beiber is dead.

Huffington Post - Mark Buehrle loves dogs, hates Mike Vick.

YouTube - Roll Tide.

Barstool U - Some witty tips from some pros on how to get away after a hook-up.

DeadSpin - Adventures in Pant Stuffing.  Enough said.

Guyism - Finally something I can fit my fat ass in, maybe you too?

Kickstarter - So far, the poverty stricken city of Detroit has raised almost $60,000, not really something that would help out the community's poor fiscal situation.  Detroit claims they "need" a RoboCop statue, and they're doing all they can to make it happen.

Sack Up

I'm relaxing in my room right now, just flicked the TV on to the Kansas-Kansas St. game.  It could be because I'm wiped out from the 'Cuse game, maybe it's that I have tons of work to get finished, or I just want to watch this game, but it's neither one.  My roommates are sitting in the living room on this snowy Valentine's Day, watching none other than "Valentine's Day".

Some, especially females would say there's nothing wrong with that.  But there is so much wrong with that Bros.  What is this world coming to when Bros are watching a legit chick flick like this? It's not even one of those borderline movies that you can defend, especially with all the company being dudes.  The movie poster is a heart.  Need I say more?  Plus, there's a huge rivalry college basketball game on ESPN, a number 1 about to get knocked off.  This holiday is all about Hoes, it's time to sack up Bros.

Rotten Oranges

I nearly made this my first video blog post, but honestly I don't feel like going through all that shit right now.  It's late, I have to be awake at 7:30 AM, and I'm pissed off.  So a regular post it is, to spare myself the embarrassment, and to vent.

Tonight I went to the Georgetown-Syracuse basketball game.  Any fan of a sports team will at some point blame referees for the outcome of a game.  The referees were absolutely terrible tonight, calling probably about 10 offensive fouls - an unheard of amount.  This played a huge factor in the game, but not the biggest.  When you purchase a ticket to a sporting event, do you go so you can sit with your arms crossed?

The Carrier Dome was filled with a fairly thin crowd by Hoya versus Orangemen standards, having just over 26,000 people attend the game.  That itself is pretty embarrassing.  What makes it even worse is what seemed like every seating section around me (lower level, behind the basket) were all sitting down during the final 3 minutes of the game.  Of course Syracuse led the majority of the game, but started losing it around this time.  At this point, I was furious, and disgusted to be see this vital game slip away.  Finally, some ballsy Bro started screaming at all the so called "fans" sitting, unmotivated at the game.  For once the drunk guy standing up yelling profanities wasn't the asshole, everyone else was.

Maybe it would be different if SU wasn't so worried about money by giving those lower level seating priorities to students instead of wealthy, subdued "fans".  See Duke University for example, the Cameron Crazies, seated lower level on the side of the court, control the game.  Syracuse however, puts the student section on the end of the court directly behind the basket, not uncommon by any means.  But in terms of which end they're located, it doesn't even make sense.  The opposing teams shoots on the end opposite of the student section during the most important time in the game, the end.  So basically instead of giving the home Orange a bit of an advantage at the end of a game, Syracuse University completely negates that thought by giving the opposition the relief of shooting at an end full of quiet "fans"m and taking the student section out of the picture.

So if SU really wanted to help their basketball program, they should try thinking for a few minutes.  There is probably something I missed that would clearly point to the reason why the current seating scheme makes sense, I don't know.  I do know that the team's best fans are the students, regardless of revenue they generate fo SU, even though the students do pay tuition out the ass.  They bring intense support every game.  5 losses in the past 7 games after starting 18-0 should be unacceptable, there's only so much the players/coaches can do.  Hall of fame coach Jim Boeheim is on record for calling out the Syracuse fans many times.  It's time for SU to hop off the economic greed train and reward the biggest fans they have instead.

Are You Kidding Me Bro?

Screw numbers, screw statistics.  Everyone, we have the city of Buffalo to answer the question if we are still in a recession or not.  The answer is yes, absolutely.  A few weeks ago, a good friend of mine had his 1998 Plymouth Breeze stolen from his apartment's driveway.  Not until the next morning when he was headed out for work, did he realize his baby was gone.

See my friend is on record for saying that his street goes as follows; "apartment, crackhouse, bar."  So maybe it's not too outrageous that his car was stolen.  I guess this is what happens when there's a bunch of drunk cokeheads running around Buffalo.  So he went through all the paper work, waiting, etc.  Finally, yesterday he was called up by the cops, and headed down to the impound, where the cool breeze was sitting, ignition torn out onto the floor, with 7 parking tickets.

Are you kidding me Bro?  First, you steal the car, by no means the most flashy car which was actually smart in a way.  But then you have to rip the ignition out?  I don't even understand what the point of that is.  Go from point A, to point B, sell it, return it, or blow it up.  Seriously, this is the lamest way to ruin a car.  If you're going to pull a Grand Theft Auto, do it right.  Blow that shit up B-lo.  Now my Bro is stuck paying money for having his car stolen.

Bro Tunes: TJ Fredette Edition

Alright, after Jimmer Fredette was finally noticed as a consistent lights-out scorer in college basketball, his brother's song has been taking off.  So this song isn't quite "Amazing", but you've gotta give the Bro props.  How many Morman's do you know that can rap like that?  Chances are zero, and chances are that's because you don't know any Mormans.  It's a pretty sweet tune dedicated to Bro love, so it was a must add for The BroCave.  Not to mention that Jimmer Fredette, a native of Glens Falls, NY, is absolutely dirty.  I definitely have worse songs on my iPod.  Add it.

Just in Time for the First Full Weekend Back

Santa Cruz Sentinel - How strange is the emerging world of medical-marijuana entrepreneurship?  Consider Clay Butler, who may soon be marketing a food product that he's never tasted, and that he would never buy. The product is called Canna Cola, and it's a soft drink that contains THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, aimed at medical marijuana dispensaries.

__________________________________________________________________

About a week ago I questioned, why isn't there a pot drink?  People proceeded to explain to me how I can make one, but who really wants to go through all that shit?  No instructions needed anymore, big Clay, a straight shooter who only uses any drug like aspirin when he has a headache, has come through in the clutch.  It's supposed to taste good, having less of the marijuana taste than any other pot drinks, so why not give it a shot?  The drinks are expected to run between $10 and $15 per 12 ounce bottle.  Captain & Canna Cola for me this weekend, Sirs.

Bro Tunes: The Script Edition

Another pretty good tune here that was recommended as a Bro Tune, by possibly the new head of The Bro Cave's music posts.  I've always been a B.o.B fan, and was supposed to see him live at Oneonta before those plans fell through.  So that was a bummer, but I might make the trip to Geneseo with a few Bros to check out their spring concert of Ke$ha, B.o.B, and KiD CuDi.  I'm beginning to think Cortland doesn't have anyone close to match that trio at our fellow SUNY school.  Oh well.  Check out The Script, a solid newish band on youtube, iTunes, or here at hotnewhiphop.  Their most well-known song is "Breakeven", one that I'm not a huge fan of, but "Walk Away" featuring B.o.B makes up for it by adding a new dynamic to the pop artist's song.

Snorting Death?

MSN — Miami — Burglars snorted the cremated remains of a man and two dogs in the mistaken belief that they had stolen illegal drugs, Florida sheriff's deputies said Wednesday.
The ashes were taken from a woman's home in the central Florida town of Silver Springs Shores on Dec. 15. The thieves took an urn containing the ashes of her father and another container with the ashes of her two Great Danes, along with electronic equipment and jewelry, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.
Investigators learned what happened to the ashes after they arrested five teens in connection with another burglary attempt at a nearby home last week.
"The suspects mistook the ashes for either cocaine or heroin. It was soon discovered that the suspects snorted some of the ashes believing they were snorting cocaine," the sheriff's report said.
Once they realized their error, the suspects discussed returning the remaining ashes but threw them in a lake instead because they thought their fingerprints were on the containers, sheriff's spokesman Judge Cochran said.
Police divers were trying to recover the ashes. The suspects were jailed on numerous charges of burglary and other crimes.

____________________________________________________________________

Burglars at their best.  How fucked up did these dudes get off this?  Is there a difference in quality between human ashes and Great Dane ashes?  Amateurs... you've gotta taste it first to make sure.  Wherever these guys end up, they're in for a treat from some of the big boys.  Don't drop the soap.

Honestly, I'm not much of a snorter myself.  I don't get it, I can't even handle pool water going up my nose, and people are snorting human/animal remains, crushed rocks, and who knows what other shit.  This is seriously what the US of fucking A has come to now?

I played a damn flag football game with a kid last year who snorted vicodin before the game because his "wrist hurt".  Are you fucking kidding me Bro?  It's a FLAG FOOTBALL GAME at SUNY Cortland.  You really proved yourself to be a leader out on the field, leading us to a 65-0 loss.  But you fought through the aching pain with the heart of a champion, the true American way, through drug abuse.  It's bad enough you can't use your mouth to take a prescription drug, you have to snort it Tony Montana style like that's impressive to everyone or something.  Way to go Bro, you're awesome.

Stay on the Lookout Bros

Alright, so there's some sticky situations you can encounter when you're looking for a prize to take back to your apartment, home, or dorm.  Some can be cancelled out by getting wasted, others not so much, here's a list of lessons to look out for next time you're on the prowl...

1) Blame the Booze - The all too common beer goggles.  Some nights I honestly still have nightmares about this situation.  After I got a good buzz on, I made a trip with a few of the guys, and quite possibly the widest girl at Cortland, to get some high quality drunk food.  Seriously, it may not have been her first trip to D.P. Dough that night.  Of course we went through the hookup and all that bullshit, blah, blah, blah (I literally almost shed tears of shame 2 days ago thinking about it).

Luckily I wasn't drunk enough to take the wildebeest back to the room with me.  My boy Brian and I grabbed our calzones, and I started freaking out, I don't know if it was the fact that I was hungry for what was in my hand, or if it was because she wanted to eat my hand, i said Brian, "We gotta get the fuck out of here!"  Before that he had even tried to convince me NO, "She's a BEAST."  Thanks to him, we split, saving me harassment for the rest of my life.  Lesson learned, you gotta keep a Bro around for validation, especially if you're sporting the beer goggles.

2) Loose Shirts - Ladies, what the fuck kind of shit are you trying to pull here?  Are you really that desperate or is that blanket the only thing that would fit?  It's bad enough that you all try to negate your poor complexions with by befriending girls that you think are less attractive than you, but now you're wearing "stylish" puffy shirts.  AND, while we're on the topic of bitch clothing, let me tell you how great push-up bras are... until it's off and the tatas either drop to your toes, or there's absolutely nothing.  Even my tits could look good in a push-up bra.  Enough with the deceiving trends, you aren't as sneaky as you think, and Bros aren't as stupid as you think.  Lesson 2: Things aren't as pretty under the sheets as they might seem.

3) Makeup/Bed Tanning - I consider this a given, that's why it's listed last.  Why is it that a chick thinks if they look like Otto the Orange, I will want to fuck them?  It doesn't look real, therefore neither do you.  Fake boobs are different because every Bro wants to mess around with those things at least once in his life.  Of course tan is attractive, orange is not, in no way is getting an orange hue to your skin worth giving yourself cancer.  Oh and I did notice all that powdery shit on my shoulder after you hugged me, not fooling anyone, not sexy.  Fuck sparkles by the way, shit gets everywhere, impossible to get off.  Final lesson learned, fake is fuckable, but not preferred.

Trust me, I've been in all of these situations, and it ain't pretty.  You can thank me later.

UnLucky

Just a day after the Panthers claimed they would not trade the first pick, and the pick that would in all likelihood be Andrew Luck, Stanford's Quarterback decided he is heading back to school for his fourth year.  Luck is turning down upwards of potentially $60 million guaranteed.  Theres plenty of reasons why Luck wouldn't want to take his talents to the NFL but come on, $60 mil isn't something your everyday contract, unless you would be playing for the Carolina Panthers.

First of all, people keep forgetting that there may not be an NFL season next year.  I've done two separate presentations in school based on what is happening between the NFLPA and the owners.  Right now its a mess, and an agreement seems miles away.  One hot topic is that the NFLPA would like the rookie salary structure drastically changed because they feel the unproven players are paid too much in comparison to proven veterans.  If Luck isn't guaranteed he would be drafted, why would he leave school and take the risk?  Luck has made it clear that his degree matters to he and his family.

Second, who wants to play for the Carolina Panthers?  Honestly, any other team within the top 5 has a better resume for a player whether its history, fans, location, or talent.  I myself can only name a few players on the Panthers team off the top of my head; DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, Jon Beason, and Steve Smith.  There has already been speculation that the Panthers oldest player and biggest star Steve Smith is preparing to leave Carolina.  The money is the only attractive facet of going from a top 10 college football team, to an NFL bottom feeder who will require at least 3 or 4 years before they contend again.  By that time, who knows if they'll even exist.

You've gotta start thinking that maybe, just maybe, Stanford's Head Coach Jim Harbaugh will turn down the coaching jobs around the NFL for another shot at winning a PAC-12 championship with Andrew Luck.  The only way Harbaugh does leave, is if an NFL team (which seems to be Miami), offers him a contract so bizarre for a Head Coach, that he can't refuse it.  As of now he's looking at around $8 million per year from the Miami Dolphins.  Besides the Panthers, the Dolphins themselves are starting to lack talent with a backfield containing a deteriorating Ronnie Brown, a very high Ricky Williams, and no quarterback.  Plus let's not forget that Miami still has a Head Coach.

The way I see it, if both Harbaugh and Luck return to Stanford, they each get a shot to stay in the area the next year if they decide to move on to the NFL.  I anticipate the San Francisco 49ers have a pretty dismal year, and based on the history of returning college quarterbacks, Luck won't find himself as successful next year at Stanford.  However, the NFL and money will always be there, so why not roll the dice and hopefully find yourself drafted by a more talented team next year?  Andrew Luck made the right decision regardless of his performance next season, he's headed back to college, the greatest time of anyone's life.  As for the Carolina Panthers, I guess you would just have to call them unLucky.

BREAKING NEWS: No One Cares About Women's Sports

First of all, Congratulations to the Connecticut Huskies Women's Basketball team for claiming the longest winning streak in NCAA sports history, a truly amazing feat.  The Lady Huskies have won each game by an astonishing average of  a 33.3 point differential.  Prior to last night's game, Head Coach Geno Auriemma made many ill-timed, unneccessary statements.  "I just know there wouldn't be this many people in the room if we were chasing a woman's record," he said. "The reason everybody is having a heart attack the last four or five days is a bunch of women are threatening to break a men's record, and everybody is all up in arms about it.

Well honestly Geno, no one is "up in arms about it" because it is in fact women's basketball.  Tonight I watched the Orlando Magic versus the Dallas Mavericks on NBA TV, instead of your girls break the record.  Why?  At the end of the day you are still coaching women's basketball.  Although it is considered the purest form of basketball in the world due to the lack of player size, jumping ability, and increased utilization of mid-range jump shots, it's not entertaining.  For such an important game I barely hesitated to change the channel from a game between two NBA teams I don't care about to the 89th consecutive win game for the UCONN ladies (Plus the Maverick-Magic game actually turned out to be pretty good).

I guarantee no men's team will ever break the UCONN Women's basketball team win streak if it ever ends, let alone John Wooden's UCLA Men's basketball win streak.  The reason is parity, or lack there of I should say.  The Lady Huskies defeated the number 11 ranked Ohio State Women's basketball team by 31 points on Sunday.  Only 3 times in the past 3 years worth of games has a team come within 10 or fewer points of Connecticut.  That's absurd.  What would make Geno Auriemma think that anyone cares about his Women's basketball games when everyone knows they are going to win.  There was not the slightest chance that number 20 Florida State knocked them off tonight.

Auriemma also says, "Because we're breaking a men's record, we've got a lot of people paying attention. If we were breaking a women's record, everybody would go, 'Aren't those girls nice, let's give them two paragraphs in USA Today, give them one line on the bottom of ESPN and then let's send them back where they belong, in the kitchen.' "  Yes, there are a lot of people paying attention to the streak now, but not because it is a men's basketball streak, but because of how legendary the UCLA teams were that earned it to begin with.  Maybe Geno did this as a stunt to attract more attention to the struggling sport of women's basketball, maybe he really believes what he said, either way, Geno should probably head to the kitchen before anyone else should so he can cook up some better educated statements and ask himself, "Am I in it for my ego, or the good of my team". If he is looking for comparisons to John Wooden, this doesn't help his case. This whiny tantrum is something that would never come from the beloved John Wooden (a longtime supporter of the Lady Huskies).

The streak is obviously a significant, important day in the sports world which signifies the reason that people watch, play, and show admiration in all sports: the jaunt for excellence.  The NCAA sports winning streak has been broken, and the NCAA Women's basketball winning streak has most certainly been shattered, but the NCAA Men's basketball winning streak has not, and never will be overcome by another Men's team.  John Wooden's UCLA basketball teams stand alone in not only the talent they possessed, but the talent they faced.  For this reason, Geno Auriemma's legacy will never truly stand close to the Great John Wooden's.

P.S. - The Lingerie Football League's very own Los Angeles Temptation face the San Diego Seduction on New Years day at 9 PM.  I recommend tuning in, it might be the only women's sports I watch for the entire new year.  That and the Lingerie Bowl February 6th...
